Leading Engineering Company - Specialist manufacturers to various sectors including: Energy, Automotive, Nuclear, R&D - seek Production Manager - Ideally with some experience in process improvement for Manufacturing / Fabrication/ Industrial Engineering.

You will be a Production Engineer / Industrial Engineer/ Mechanical Engineer. With a very good mix of experience in Manufacturing &/ Fabrication. Ideally with process improvement &/ change management.

The Role: Production Manager with Process Improvement

Process Engineering is a Major element of this role: assess operations and implement strategies for improving efficiency. Improve efficiency through better use of Automation - ranging from fairly straightforward eg conveyor belts - to more complex initiatives.

As well as supervise the manufacture of all products within the manufacturing department in a safe environment of time within the quality cost and efficiency targets set out within the business objectives. Management of fabrication facility. Primary duties will include planning, co-ordinating and controlling all the steps in the production process to make sure products are delivered on time and within the budget, while managing the team to ensure these objectives are met.

And as process improvement manager, optimize workplace efficiency and reduce costs.

continuous improvement manager/ process improvement manager -oversees the systems of a business and works to improve them. assess how business operates, determine shortcomings and provide practical advice on revising processes. The business systems that a process improvement manager oversees might include: Employee productivity, Technology development, Manufacturing, Quality control

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE:

  • Management or supervisory experience in a production environment
  • Implementation of efficiency improvements in a previous role
  • Strong organisation and decision-making skills & Excellent leadership skills
  • Understanding of shop floor health & safety & safe working practices
  • Qualification in an Engineering discipline

Advantage:

  • Experience driving continuous improvement activities to optimise costs, equipment and processes
  • Change Management
  • HND/ Degree in Engineering (Industrial/ Mechanical engineering)
  • Engineering experience for fabrication - ideally in metal or plastic.
  • Any Certifications such as ILM3, Kanban and value-team mapping

Please nopte this is an Office based role in Somerset. (any of Weston Super Mare, Glastonbury, Bridgwater, Taunton, Minehead, Yeovil, Frome, Wellington).
