Exciting New role -Supply Chain & Purchasing Manager

Are you a dynamic and strategic professional with a passion for optimising supply chains and managing Purchasing processes?

I am seeking a talented Supply Chain and Purchasing Manager to lead a fast-paced distribution centre focusing on procurement efforts and drive operational excellence. You will be accountable for a significant and essential contribution to business performance by ensuring optimal levels of stock availability purchased at ‘best' price and in line with budget requirements

Based in the West Midlands this company is located off junction 9 of the M6, the role is a Full-time permanent role, 40 hours a week and offers a hybrid working pattern,2 days WFH.

Salary is £45-55k dependant on experience, including company benefits.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure cost-effective sourcing of goods and services.
  • You will need strong analytical skills and be able to confidently review and frequently analyse data to provide accurate and timely forecasting. You must be able to respond early to supplier shortage and be able to think on your "feet" and source alternative suppliers when necessary.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and enhance supplier relationships.
  • Negotiate contracts, manage supplier performance, and mitigate risks.
  • Monitor inventory levels and optimise supply chain efficiency, have knowledge of Customs and Container programs.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall supply chain performance.

Qualifications:

  • CIPS, Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business, or related field OR Qualified by experience, minimum 5-10 years' experience.
  • Proven experience in procurement, sourcing, and supply chain management.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build lasting supplier partnerships.
  • Proficiency in using procurement software, Excel and Inhouse MRP systems.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Experience Managing a small team 3+ employees.
