Payroll Team Leader (Practice)

  • Annual Salary: £30k - £35k per annum
  • Location: Camberley, Surrey (free parking)
  • Job Type: Full-time (9am to 5:30pm, fully office-based)

We are seeking a Payroll Team Leader to oversee our client's payroll department, ensuring accurate and timely payroll production in accordance with statutory regulations. This role reports directly to the Payroll Manager and offers a fantastic opportunity to lead a team and enhance your leadership skills in a dynamic environment.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Oversee the processing of salaries through the payroll system, including holiday and statutory payments.
  • Administer the Statutory payment schemes and ensure compliance with all regulations.
  • Respond to complex queries from clients regarding their pay, taxation, and National Insurance.
  • Manage communications with HMRC and address any related queries effectively.
  • Liaise with clients regarding pay log and invoice queries, ensuring clear and professional communication.
  • Lead and support the payroll team in managing inbound calls and resolving queries efficiently.
  • Conduct Right to Work and Document Checks, ensuring compliance across all operations.
  • Oversee day-to-day administrative tasks and ensure the smooth running of the payroll department.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven leadership experience in a payroll practice environment.
  • Strong numerical aptitude and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a dynamic setting.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel & Word).
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines in a pressured environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team.
