Job Title: Private Client Paralegal

Location: Hertfordshire (site based)

Salary: £25k - £30k p/annum

Reports to: Head of Private Client Department

Working Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9:00 - 17:30

Reed Legal are supporting their client in the recruitment of an experienced Private Client Paralegal.

Job Purpose:

To provide high-quality legal support within the Private Client department, assisting solicitors and partners in delivering services related to Wills, Probate, Trusts, and Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs). The role involves direct client contact, document preparation, and case management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drafting Wills, including Life Interest and Discretionary Trusts.

  • Preparing and registering Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs) and Enduring Powers of Attorney (EPAs).

  • Assisting with the administration of estates, including:

  • Preparing applications for Grants of Probate.

  • Completing HMRC inheritance tax forms.

  • Collecting assets and settling liabilities.

  • Preparing estate accounts and distributing assets to beneficiaries.

  • Managing files related to Deputyships and Court of Protection matters.

  • Liaising with clients, beneficiaries, executors, and third parties.

  • Maintaining accurate records using case management systems.

  • Ensuring compliance with firm policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Supporting marketing and business development initiatives, such as writing blogs or attending client events.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a Private Client team.
  • Strong knowledge of Wills, Probate, and LPAs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management systems such as LEAP.
