Security Officer
- Location: Hutton, Preston
- Pay: £12.00 per hour
- Job Type: Part Time 2 day per week rota basis
We are currently seeking a dedicated Security Officer to maintain the safety and security of our headquarters and associated sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for controlling access, responding to alarms, and ensuring the overall integrity of our security measures.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Maintain the security of the Constabulary's Headquarters and satellite sites.
- Control entry and egress of persons and vehicles to prevent unauthorised access.
- Uphold all security procedures and maintain detailed notes of events, reporting any incidents promptly.
- Greet all staff and visitors in a courteous manner.
- Respond to alarm activations, take necessary actions, and report to the Security Supervisor.
- Secure and unlock areas as required.
- Conduct foot and vehicular patrols of the premises.
- Ensure all personal and vehicular passes are displayed before allowing entry onto the site.
- Liaise effectively with other departments and organisations regarding site security.
- Maintain accurate records and logs of daily activities and prepare brief reports if needed.
- Work flexibly as part of the Security Team to provide a 24-hour service.
- Perform duties using personal initiative with minimal supervision.
- Undertake other duties and additional responsibilities as required.
- Work with customers and colleagues to deliver effective communication and manage expectations with a customer-focused approach.
- Participate in the Professional Development Review (PDR) process to improve performance.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a security role.
- Ability to make decisions with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
- Flexibility to work as part of a 24-hour service team.
