Sales Travel Designer

We are seeking a detail-oriented and client-focused Travel Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for travel, excellent communication skills, and the ability to create custom travel itineraries that exceed client expectations. This role involves managing the entire sales journey, from initial inquiry to booking, and fostering relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal teams

Responsibilities:

  • Respond promptly to travel inquiries assigned to you, following established processes and expectations.
  • Engage with clients to determine their travel needs and requirements through effective dialogue and questioning.
  • Prepare proposal itineraries and quotes tailored to the client's needs based on initial conversations.
  • Handle all client interactions professionally and empathetically, ensuring a high degree of client care.
  • Use company systems (PipeDrive, Itrvl) to manage clients throughout the sales journey from inquiry to booking.
  • Ensure all booking elements are updated and accurately noted before transferring the client file to the Guest Relations team.
  • Maintain strong, productive relationships with the our clients Guest Relations and Reservations teams.
  • Ensure that all client quotes achieve the targeted profit margin.
  • Manage your performance to meet sales revenue and profit margin targets.
  • Develop and maintain strong, productive relationships with suppliers on the ground.
  • Attend supplier product meetings as required.
  • Stay up to date with supplier news and training using company resources (our clients Window, Africa Travel Hub, etc.).
  • Participate in annual educational trips to locations you are required to sell, providing accurate information and potential marketing content for future campaigns and social media.
  • Debrief the team upon return from educational trips to share insights and information.
  • Perform any other duties in line with the general nature of the post or as requested by management.

Preferred Experience

  • Proven experience in travel design or a related field.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using CRM systems (PipeDrive, Itrvl) or similar.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple clients and tasks simultaneously.
  • A passion for travel and a deep understanding of various destinations.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
