This specific school is a prime setting for PGCE and Undergrad Students to obtain their ECT, with an in depth programme which has been constructed to provide relevant and up to date training to support the development of ECT 1 teachers. Furthermore, all programmes are tailored to the needs of the teacher, with both a classroom and department mentor overseeing your pedagogy and providing feedback in 2 weekly mentoring sessions.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach Key Stages 3 and 4 Science, fostering a love of learning among students.
  • Fulfill form tutor responsibilities, providing guidance and support to students.
  • Assist students with GCSE revision in the subject, ensuring their readiness for examinations.
  • Undertake planning and marking responsibilities to support student progress.
  • Promote curiosity within Science through enquiry based learning and use deep and open questioning to stretch students learning and understanding.
  • Support the school with trips out to museums that bring learning to life.
  • Immerse yourself within the schools vibrant and exciting school community.

ECT Programme:

  • Assigned an experienced mentor dedicated to your professional growth.
  • Benefit from two weekly sessions with your mentor, receiving tailored support and guidance.
  • Learn how to bring Science to life through the planning of engaging and safe practical sessions - alongside your mentor
  • Engage in weekly ECT training sessions alongside other newly qualified teachers within our large trust network, fostering collaboration and skill development.
  • Working under an SLT team, who have pupil and staff well-being at the forefront of everything they do. Schemes are in place within the school, to facilitate staff workload and a positive ethos to support the well-being of all teachers.
  • A culture of shared practice - regular opportunities to observe and learn through watching others, regardless of the stage they are at in their school training.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) essential.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance.
  • 10-year employment check.
