My client is a significant public sector entity in Sheffield, overseeing numerous services for the local community. As they embark on a change journey, this is a great opportunity for a forward-thinking HR Advisor who can confidently support and guide line managers aligned to the people strategy.
Description
This is a great opportunity to join this public sector organisation who are currently going through a period of change and growth. The role of the HR Advisor will be work closely with all three functional experts of the People leadership team: Head of OD, Head of HR Change and Head of HR Operations, as well as the HR Project Manager. This role will assist in the delivery of an exemplary, agile, customer-focused People service.
This role is less focused on employee relations, rather it will take the lead on some new organisation development initiatives, therefore, any HR Advisors with any L&D/OD and/or LMS background would be ideal!
- Provide expert HR advice and support to staff and managers
- Support in driving new L&D strategy & LMS system
- Develop and implement HR policies and procedures
- Assist in the resolution of employee relations issues (low volume).
- Support recruitment, onboarding and staff development processes
- Manage HR-related administrative tasks
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR services
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment law and HR best practices
- Support the HR team in various projects
Profile
A successful candidate will be an experienced HR Advisor, having supported in the full employee-lifecycle and have the following:
- Experience of L&D/Organisation Development and/or LMS knowledge, alongside being a generalist, would be advantageous!
- Proven HR generalist experience within the public sector ideally, but not essential.
- Strong knowledge of HR systems and databases
- A degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related fields - ideally.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
- Problem-solving abilities and a strong work ethic
Job Offer
- A salary range of £35,000 - £39,000 per annum
- Enrolment in the South Yorkshire Pension Scheme
