JDS Recruitment is currently seeking a Qualified English Teacher who can also support PSHE to join a warm and supportive Child and Adolescent Inpatient Unit in Ilford from September 2025.
Qualified English Teacher with PSHE Support
Location: Goodmayes, Ilford (Nearest station: Chadwell Heath)
Start Date: September 2025
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm (Full-time)
Contract: Long-term with potential to become permanent
About the Role:
- Position: Qualified English Teacher (KS3 & KS4) with PSHE teaching responsibilities
- Setting: A specialist inpatient unit run by NELFT, supporting young people aged 12–18 with mental health conditions
- Class Size: Small groups (typically 3–4 students at a time)
- Subjects: English and PSHE
- Working Days: Monday to Thursday, 8:30am – 3:30pm (4 days per week)
Requirements:
To be considered for this role, candidates must have:
- QTS or QTLS (UK Qualified Teacher Status) – experienced non-QTS candidates may also be considered
- Ability to teach English up to Key Stage 4 and support PSHE delivery
- Strong subject knowledge in English
- Experience working within an alternative provision, PRU, or similar setting is highly advantageous
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
- Two years of professional references
- Full-time availability from September 2025
- Relevant classroom experience
