Based in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire our highly recognised client is exclusively working with MRK Associates in their search for a qualified accountant to report to the Finance Director as Head of Commercial Finance, on a permanent basis.
This job would suit an ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified accountant with a strong track record of post-qualified commercial experience to take ownership of providing clarity on the profitability of the business to non-finance managers and directors whilst playing a vital role as part of the senior leadership team.

The successful individual will be a qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA Accountant with experience leading a team in a commercial finance environment. Previous experience should ensure this individual is comfortable with financial models, financial planning and business cases, commercial and performance analysis with strong Excel and KPI/ Dashboard reporting whilst developing key relationships with non-finance stakeholders across the business.
Job responsibilities:
- Leading financial planning and analysis team and BI Developer
- Able to drive the product and customer profitability analysis for directors and key managers, using the BI database analysis and enabling quality outputs
- Provide new product analysis and pricing increase impact analysis as and when requested.
- Ensuring the monthly management accounts are prepared by the management accountant on a monthly basis at a timely manner.
- Conduct company budget meetings in advance to be able to release the annual budgets to the stakeholders by at least end of January each year.
- Ensure monthly updates on the company three-year forecast model are carried out (new version) using the actual data and the bank forecast data.
- Provide analysis on cost vs budgets to create a thorough understanding by non-finance managers and directors on the cost behaviour as and when requested in order to control the costs.
