The Thomas Daniell, perhaps one of the most well-known venues in Truro, is looking for an enthusiastic and experience sous chef to join our exceptional team.

Since re-opening at the end of 2023, The Thomas Daniell has expanded and earned its reputation as one of the finest eating and drinking establishments in the city and we are now pleased to look to expand our kitchen team.

About the Role

We are actively looking to recruit an experienced sous chef for immediate start. Working as part of our small but highly experienced team, you will play a vital role in the kitchen, delivering food of the highest quality from our locally sourced produce.

As well as offering a competitive pay package, you will be eligible to share in our very generous tips from customers on a monthly basis, as well as performance bonuses.

Responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Supporting the head chef in the kitchen
  • Creatively inputting ideas into new menus and food promotions
  • Working with suppliers on food orders and securing the best deal and quality goods
  • Monitoring stock levels
  • Assisting the head chef with staff rotas and other management tasks as required
  • Implementing and maintaining food hygiene and health and safety standards
