An excellent opportunity has arisen for a

Production Engineering Manager

to join a well-established specialist manufacturer in the Witney area. With growth plans to scale their £100m turnover business to over £200m over the next 5 years, this role is a key component to ensure that their production engineering and tooling teams are ready to support expansion, but also to continue to deliver against manufacturing / targets and implement continuous and process improvement.

The

Production Engineering Manager

will manage the Engineering and Tooling teams daily on best practice and establish standard policies and procedures. You will implement and manage continuous improvement and modern manufacturing principles by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices and processes. You will be responsible for developing an enthusiastic, motivated and flexible team by building working relationships ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to.

The successful

Production Engineering Manager

will need the following experience and skills:

  • Must have experience of managing a team of Engineers including Tool Setters, with a background in mid-high manufacturing.
  • Must have experience of process engineering and troubleshooting within a manufacturing environment.
  • Management experience in an engineering role with strong leadership skills.
  • Technical, practical and mathematical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience of working in a LEAN environment would be advantageous.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative, with a self-motivated and a positive attitude.
  • Excellent organisational skills, time management and attention to detail.
  • Not afraid to take responsibility or challenge the ‘status quo'.
  • Comfortable working within a team environment, contributing and sharing best practices, resources and ideas in order to continually improve.
  • The ability to work to set standards and procedures.
  • Adept at making sound decisions quickly.
  • Creative approach to problem solving and solutions.
  • Actively contributes and is a team player.
