Warehouse Operative

Our client is looking for someone to join their warehouse operation. This is a temp - perm role and the hours are Monday to Thursday 8.30am - 5.15pm with a 45 minute lunch break and an 4.15pm finish on Fridays. The starting pay rate will be £11.53ph, rising to £11.83 depending on experience.

Objectives are to control goods in and out in a timely and efficient manner ensuring the highest level of customer service at all times. To maintain all stock in a secure, safe and tidy environment, clearly identified by part number and area location. To provide assistance to the technical department in carrying out their duties in satisfying customer demands. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Day to day duties and priorities will be allocated by the Senior Warehouse operative.
  • Support the logistics side of the business, which will involve:
  • Picking stock for dispatch in accordance to the SAP process. Goods should be picked by one operative and packed by a second
  • Endeavour to complete the picking and packing of all the days sales orders in time to be loaded onto that day's transport.
  • Pack goods for dispatch to minimise the possibility of damage in transit.
  • Check all goods-in against documentation and report any discrepancies. Place goods-in into appropriate stock location without delay once the MIGO receipt process followed.
  • Book in customer returns/repairs including any appropriate paperwork, ensuring we have as much detail as possible including part numbers, serial numbers and special customer instructions
  • Support the materials controller in the cyclic counting of stock to ensure system records are accurate.
  • Liaise with Senior Warehouse operative over recommendations for improvement in warehouse systems.
  • Support the technical department as and when required, which will involve:
  • Carrying out conversions by modifying current products or assembling components to satisfy customer orders.
  • Comply with the company's Health and Safety Policy at all times. Consider the safety of your work environment and that of your colleagues, reporting any concerns to your manager.
  • Support the company in its ISO 9001 quality programme and comply with adopted procedures and practices.
  • Comply at all times with company policies and procedures.
