Position: Learning Support Assistant

Location: Southampton

Start Date: September

Working Hours: 8:30 am - 3:30 pm

Role Overview: As a Learning Support Assistant you will play a crucial role in providing tailored support to students with special educational needs. You will work closely with teachers to adapt lesson plans, assist with classroom activities, and ensure each student receives the support that they need to thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEN.
  • Assist with adapting lesson plans and classroom activities to meet individual needs.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers.
  • Support behavioUral management strategies to create a positive learning environment.
  • Foster students' social and emotional development.
  • Assist with personal care tasks if necessary.
  • Maintain clear communication with parents and other educational professionals.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN is desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students with SEN.
  • Ability to work from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.
