Job Description
An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an experienced Dispenser to work within the Pharmacy, for a small forward thinking independent pharmacy group offering a wide range of pharmacy services based in Bordesley Green, Birmingham.
Duties:
- To work as a Dispensers to ensure the smooth running of our dispensary on a day to day basis ensuring all daily/weekly/monthly goals are met.
- To be responsible for ordering repeat prescriptions, blister pack patient prescriptions, liaising with patients, surgeries and care homes where required. Dispensing where required.
- Responsible for the running of our dispensary and assisting the Pharmacist where needed.
- To proactively assist in growing the pharmacy script and patient services business.
- Build relationships with patients, customers, GP surgeries, suppliers and other local health professionals.
- To undertake Prescription dispensing in accordance with SOP's efficiently and accurately.
- To answer queries on the supply and availability of medicines, where it is within their competence.
- To manage stock control and the maintenance of reasonable stock levels within the dispensary.
- To respond to telephone and face-to-face queries of a routine pharmaceutical nature from patients or their representatives and to refer queries to the pharmacist when appropriate.
- To liaise with other healthcare professionals to assist in the continuity of patient care across primary and secondary care.
- To manage and oversee the service provision to care homes and community patients including the preparation of Monitored Dosage Systems to deadlines.
- To assist with the engagement of patients onto advanced services and assist with the provision of those services where appropriate.
- Maintain high dispensary housekeeping standards.
- To comply with GPHC/NHSe standards for pharmacy and associated requirements.
- To assist where required with Dispensary paperwork/admin under direction of the Pharmacy Manager
- Familiar to operate With PMR : Analyst ( although training can be provided)
This position, subject to candidate experience/capability may lead into a store and grow the Pharmacy items.
Personal specification:
- Qualified to level at least 2 NVQ, BTEC or Diploma in pharmacy service skills and or Buttercups Qualified and if you have pharmaceutical science that would be a bonus
- Good attention to detail and high levels of concentration.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Excellent team working skills and ability to lead.
- High level of IT literacy
- At least 2 years community pharmacy experience
- Organisational skills and ability to work to deadlines.
- A commitment to the care of patients
- You Drive and have your own transport
- You live local to the B9 area of Birmingham
Expected up to hours: 40 per week Mon -Fri (there may be weekend work required at other stores if and when required to cover shifts)
