Salary: £25,282 per annum
Hours: Permanent, Full-time (42.5 hours per week, 8:30 am - 5:30 pm)
Reporting to: Maintenance Desk Manager

**Job Description

We are looking for a Maintenance Controller to join our Maintenance team, which provides first-line maintenance support to our fleet and customers. Customer satisfaction and communication skills are vital in ensuring our first-class service is upheld.

The successful candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for both colleagues and customers in the event of vehicle failures, services, or MOTs, delivering exceptional service in critical situations. This role is ideal for someone with automotive maintenance and/or customer service experience, who excels in problem-solving and thrives in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. Strong organizational skills and a proactive work ethic are essential.

**Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Interaction:

  • Answer all phone calls promptly and professionally.

  • Respond to emails, ensuring all communication is up to date by the end of the day.

  • Administer breakdown calls efficiently, applying appropriate actions.

  • Vehicle Maintenance:

  • Coordinate breakdown assistance, ensuring a first-time fix.

  • Process MOTs for all vehicles, liaising with customers to ensure compliance.

  • Arrange vehicle servicing according to manufacturer service schedules.

  • Book LOLER tests for vehicles equipped with lifting equipment.

  • Ensure all fleet vehicles remain compliant with relevant legislation.

  • Administration:

  • Update service information in company systems.

  • Monitor the fleet for compliance.

  • Liaise with third-party recovery providers and arrange replacement transport as needed.

  • Escalate non-attendances to the relevant Supervisor.

**Experience and Skills

  • Essential:

  • Customer service experience.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

  • Ability to maintain a high level of competence.

  • Preferred:

  • Automotive maintenance experience.
