Sutton Recruitment are working exclusively to recruit Quality Engineer's to join a leading company who specialises in the production of innovative precast reinforced, pre-stressed and post-tensioned concrete products.

As the largest independent producer of pre-stressed bridge beams in Britain, who offer a comprehensive range of beam profiles as well as bespoke reinforced and post-tensioned products developed and tailored to the needs of individual projects.

As Quality Engineer, you will work under the direction of the Quality Manager with the objective of providing assistance, carry out physical checking of all products, ensuring compliance is followed whilst reporting and documenting any non-compliance.

Objectives;

Pre Pour Inspection

  • Read and understand mould/formwork drawings RC and pre-stressed products.
  • Read and understand concrete reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules.
  • Carry out dimensional checks on set up units, confirm compliance, report and document any non-compliances.
  • Carry out physical checks of all reinforcement bars in moulds, confirm compliance, report and document any non-compliances.

Post Pour Inspection

  • To inspect 100% of all products in line with the Inspection and Testing plan (ITP) for each project and ensure that all products are inspected the day after production to ensure that they comply with the relevant specifications.
  • To report any defects immediately to the management team and participate in any investigation and causation analysis to establish root cause for defects and assist in proposing targeted corrective actions.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Inspect 100% of manufactured products the day following production in line with the relevant ITP to ensure the product complies to relevant standards.
  • Ensure legislative and company health and safety laws and rules are complied with by all members of the team at all times.
  • Raising non-conformance reports on the relevant form(S) and ensure these are assigned to the relevant bodies for further investigation and action.
  • Actively participate in non-conformance investigations and be proactive in formulating targeted corrective actions.
  • Ensure that any and all required finishing or remedial works are identified and recorded on the post pour inspection documents.
  • Maintain high standards of all Quality records/documents and make sure they are kept up to date.
  • Assist in internal and external Quality related audits.
  • Work with the management team to identify and implement improvement opportunities in working practices and productivity performance.

What's on offer

  • Monday to Friday, 08:00am – 17:00pm (30 minute lunch un-paid)
  • 20 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays (Birthday off)
  • Nest Pension; 3% client, 5% employee

To be suitable for this role, you must have a full driving license and your own vehicle to begin with.
