The Role:

In this Finance Business Partner role, which sits in the FP&A team, you will play a crucial part in helping support the business in delivering one of our most prominent and interesting areas; our Digital agenda. You'll work closely with the Chief Information and Digital Officer and their team, playing a key part in shaping our digital future, ensuring we create a stronger, efficient, and more profitable business.

Also, as our Finance Business Partner, you'll oversee financial processes and controls for our group's capital expenditure, ensuring we invest wisely in our digital capabilities. Naturally, to do this you'll be exposed to our CFO and CEO on a regular basis.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Chief Information and Digital Officer and his senior team on cost control, commercial contract advice, and capital projects (including investment appraisal).

Present the key themes facing the business at management meetings.

Coordinate the agenda and material going into the monthly Investment Decision Forum meetings with the CEO / CFO.

Ensure the business processes surrounding the completeness and recording of capital spend (IT & non IT) is being adhered to, keeping stakeholders (including the CEO / CFO) informed of project under/over spends.

Ownership of the monthly board capex reporting.

Work closely with other finance teams to deliver annual planning cycles (forecasts, budgets & 5 year plans).

Manage the development and support of a finance analyst.

Support the production of monthly management accounts to ensure consistency and accuracy.

Be the financial conscience of the department, providing advice on cost control and improvement initiatives - ensuring that the best value is always pursued in regards to renewals, new development and change initiatives.

This is a hybrid-based role with travel into our head office based in Crick, Northamptonshire, up to two times a week.

You:

You'll live and breathe our passion and hunger to drive forward real change. You'll be excited to be involved in something new, and will take great pride in the direction and rate at which our business is set to grow. Please note you don't need to be an expert in IT to succeed in this role.

Whilst our preference is for someone to be fully qualified in either ACA / ACCA / CIMA, we will also consider more junior applicants who are currently part-qualified and studying with a few exams left to complete

Skills and competencies

Qualified or nearly Qualified - CIMA / ACCA / ACA

Previous experience in business partnering is essential. You must be able to demonstrate your influencing and supervision skills.

Advanced knowledge in Excel or Google Sheets.

A drive and passion to change the way something has always been done.

Solid understanding of commercial finance and margin drivers.
