Caretaker
- Hourly Rate: £11.92
- Location: North Swindon
- Job Type: Full-time, Temporary 37.5 hours comprising afternoons (2pm - 10pm) Mon – Fri, Saturday day shift with a day off in the week
We are seeking a dedicated Caretaker to join our team at Swindon Schools based facilities located in North Swindon. This role is essential in providing a clean and safe environment for local clubs to carry out their activities. The position requires flexibility, including afternoon shifts and occasional Saturdays, as well as travel to other school sites in North Swindon.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Opening and locking venues, including alarm setting and unsetting.
- Assisting clients with leisure, sporting activities, and other events.
- Setting up and setting down leisure and sporting activities for third parties who have booked spaces/pitches.
- Signing in and managing third-party and school clients.
- Liaising with the school's site teams.
- Carrying out minor repairs and decoration works.
- Participating in cleaning and deep cleaning activities as required.
- Conducting initial investigations into reactive requests and making temporary or permanent repairs, or notifying management to call in a service provider.
- Responding to emergency situations such as floods or bodily fluids and effecting temporary or permanent rectification.
- Carrying out day-to-day duties according to the daily schedule, including litter picking, sweeping, and replenishing consumables.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- A valid driving license and own vehicle are advantageous.
- You will be required to pass a clear enhanced DBS
- Experience in caretaking or a similar role is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and client service skills.
- Capable of performing minor repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Flexibility to work afternoon shifts and occasional Saturdays.
