About the role...

As a Finance Apprentice at Publica Group Ltd, you will be an integral part of our finance team, working alongside experienced professionals who will guide and mentor you throughout your apprenticeship. Throughout your Finance Apprenticeship Programme, you will have fantastic opportunities to use and apply knowledge that you will gain in your studies whilst also building and developing your softer skills.

Some of your daily tasks will be:

  • Communicating and meeting with our managers across the Council to make sure they have the financial information they need to deliver their services
  • Assisting with the preparation of management accounts to monitor how the Council is performing against the budget for the year
  • Assisting members of the team to solve problems and resolve issues relating to finance
  • Assisting with year-end accounts preparation to ensure we are ready for the annual external audit
  • Supporting teams who are working on innovative projects in the Forest of Dean like the Levelling Up project.

This is a new role which will cover the Forest of Dean.

You will need...

  • 5 GCSE's Level 9 - 4 (formerly A* to C) to include Maths and English
  • 3 A ‘Levels/Degree (desirable)
  • You'll have a proactive ‘can-do' attitude and a hunger to learn and develop
  • You'll be energetic and confident talking to a range of people
  • You'll have a passion for the Forest of Dean and learning how we deliver services for our residents
  • You'll have a curious mind-set and seek to understand why we do what we do
