Business Support Officer - Finance - Fixed Term Contract

We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate individual to join our dynamic team within the UK Support Function to support the Finance teams.

Job Title: Business Support Officer – Fixed Term Contract

Salary: £26,000 (FTE) depending on experience + bonus and benefits

Location: Stevenage (flexibility to travel to other UK and International sites might be required)

Working Hours: Full time role – (37 hours)

Dynamic (hybrid) working: We offer a blended approach to home and office working, meeting the needs of the employee and the business.

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship. Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:

We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate individual to join our dynamic team within the UK Support Function to support the Finance teams. You are required to be confident, able to build networks and influence, have strong stakeholder engagement, be able to manage and build relationships within Finance and across the business, have to be proactive in managing a busy workload and will work on your own initiative on some occasions. You will need to exhibit a high level of resilience, communication, collaboration, forward thinking and organisation skills with attention to detail, which is key to success in this role.

The Role

  • Will be based in our Stevenage office, however, flexibility to travel to other sites may occasionally be required
  • Provide pro-active, accurate and comprehensive support to the Senior Management teams within the Finance function
  • Create and maintain MS Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, MS Word documents accurately
  • Participate in process improvement activities
  • Assisting new starters within the Finance team
  • Strong communication skills will be required

Providing core support to numerous managers (in brief):

  • Complex diary management, extensive travel arrangements including International and domestic
  • Complex expenses
  • Organise meetings, events, training days, workshops, participate when required and take and manage actions
  • Coordination of briefing notes, presentations, instructions, visitor passes, etc. for face to face meetings and engagements
  • The role requires a high level of accountability, integrity, resilience and the ability to work within a team
  • Proactive and progressive attention to detail
  • Participation in UK Support Function initiatives and personal development initiatives
  • Understanding and utilising MBDA tools and systems
  • Assist the Finance population to optimise efficiency throughout the business
  • Develop to become the knowledge point of contact within the Finance function. These tasks may be varied and ad-hoc in scope
