Procurement Manager
- Salary: £48000-£53000, DOE
- Location: Sutton, Surrey.
- Job Type: Full-time - Permanent - 36 hours a week.
We are seeking a Procurement Manager to join our clients Procurement Team with a focus on Estates and Facilities categories. The role involves formal tendering, leveraging frameworks, and contributing to the implementation of the organisation's Procurement Strategy. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement, particularly within the public sector, and be adept at stakeholder management and project prioritisation.
Day to Day of the role:
- Take responsibility for formal tendering and purchasing for assigned categories.
- Develop market knowledge and apply this to understand customer requirements, identifying opportunities for innovation and savings.
- Utilise commercial intelligence to execute category opportunities.
- Manage customer relationships to drive efficiencies and establish communication plans with key stakeholders.
- Lead on Supplier Relationship & Contract Management, including performance improvement and savings initiatives.
- Interface with Trade Associations and industry forums as appropriate.
- Maintain up-to-date contract registers and provide expert procurement advice.
- Ensure compliance with Public Contract Regulations and adhere to best practices.
- Analyse spend data to inform future procurement strategies and manage relationships with service providers to ensure value for money.
- Mentor team members and prioritise workload to achieve team goals.
- Maintain confidentiality and accurate accounting records.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Public Sector Experience.
- Proven experience in managing end-to-end tenders.
- Knowledge of the Procurement Act 2024 or willingness to learn quickly.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise workload.
- Strong stakeholder management skills.
- Not solely a strategist but someone who can progress with minimal supervision.
- Friendly and approachable demeanour to effectively engage with stakeholders.
