Salary: APTEC Scale PO1 (£38,364 - £40,833)

About Us: TimePlan Education are seeking a highly organized and proactive School Operations Manager for a large co-educational secondary school located in Greenwich. The school provides an outstanding education and fostering a supportive and collaborative environment for both staff and students. This is a temporary position with the potential to become permanent.

Job Overview: The School Operations Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the school. This position requires a detail-oriented, resourceful, and flexible individual who can handle multiple tasks and responsibilities with a high level of professionalism. The successful candidate will work closely with school leadership, staff, students, and parents to support the day-to-day operations of the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Operational Management:
  • Oversee the daily operations of the school, including facilities management, maintenance, and security.

  • Ensure the school environment is safe, clean, and conducive to learning.

  • Coordinate with external vendors and service providers as needed.

  1. Administrative Support:
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling, correspondence, and record-keeping.

  • Manage school inventory and supplies, ensuring all necessary materials are available and well-maintained.

  • Support the administration in planning and organizing school events and activities.

  1. Financial Management:
  • Assist in the preparation and management of the school budget.

  • Process invoices, purchase orders, and other financial documents.

  • Monitor expenditures and ensure compliance with school policies and procedures.

  1. Human Resources:
  • Support the recruitment, onboarding, and training of new staff.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date personnel records.

  • Assist with staff scheduling and leave management.

  1. Communication:
  • Serve as a point of contact for parents, students, and staff regarding operational matters.

  • Facilitate effective communication between the school administration, staff, and external stakeholders.

  • Update and maintain school communication platforms, including newsletters and websites.

  1. Compliance and Safety:
  • Ensure the school complies with all relevant regulations and standards.

  • Coordinate safety drills and emergency preparedness plans.

  • Monitor and enforce health and safety protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Education, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in school operations, administration, or a similar role.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
  • Knowledge of school management software is a plus.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and needs.
