Indirect Tax Manager

As Indirect Tax Manager you will work closely with the Head of UK Tax with a focus on VAT.

This is a full-time hybrid position with on site working required at our head office in Binley, Coventry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the UK VAT compliance process, including technical review of the quarterly VAT returns for sign-off by Head of UK Tax
  • Proactively work with our external VAT advisors to improve the VAT return process
  • Monitor changes to VAT legislation, review/update internal procedures on a periodic basis and communicate relevant changes to the wider business
  • Provide support to the UK property team to ensure VAT compliance on relevant transactions
  • Liaise with HMRC as appropriate to resolve issues and clarify VAT treatment as required
  • Provide advice to the branch managers in respect of customer VAT queries
  • Provide support to the Head of UK Tax on other non-VAT tax issues as required

Required Skills and Experience

  • Qualified CTA (Indirect Route)
  • Large accountancy firm background
  • Strong tax technical skills and the desire to develop further
  • Ability to identify areas of risk/opportunities and carry out preliminary reviews
  • Proactively builds relationships and seeks opportunities to share knowledge/improve processes
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Awareness of Customs processes and procedures (desirable)
