Science Teacher

A thriving secondary school in the Bournville area is looking for a full-time Science Teacher to join their team in January 2025 (or earlier if possible).

About the school:

  • The student enrolment is approximately 1400 students with around 1050 in the lower school and a further 350 in the Sixth Form.
  • The School is one of a number of City Academies established in England prior to the expansion of the Academies Programme in 2010.
  • The school has a supportive Head Teacher and Science Department. With access to well-equipped science labs, you will have the resources needed to bring your lesson plans to life and create memorable experiences.

Key responsibilities:
- Plan and teach engaging lessons that motivate the students in your subject and cater to the needs of diverse learners
- Mark and assess students work and track student progression
- Have excellent curriculum knowledge that continues to develop - particularly the new and engaging ways to teach the sciences as the subjects continues to evolve.
- Have strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.

To apply for this role, you will need:

  • QTS - Qualified Teacher status in Modern Foreign Languages (ECT's, formerly known as NQT's, are encouraged to apply)
  • Excellent subject knowledge of MFL in Key Stages 3 (KS3) and 4 (KS4) is essential
  • Excellent behaviour and classroom management skills
  • A strong school reference from your recent employer/placement

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
