As we continue to expand, we are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Finance Assistant to join our finance team. This role is essential in supporting our financial operations and ensuring accuracy in our financial records.

Description

Finance Assistant Duties:

  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process invoices, payments, and receipts accurately and in a timely manner. Reconcile supplier statements and manage customer accounts.
  • Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Ensure all financial data is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Bank Reconciliations: Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure consistency between bank statements and company records.
  • Data Entry: Maintain and update financial records in the accounting software, ensuring all transactions are recorded correctly.
  • Expense Management: Process employee expense claims, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Support Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, providing relevant data and analysis.
  • Audit Assistance: Support the finance team during internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies, including VAT returns and other statutory requirements.
  • Administrative Duties: Perform general administrative tasks such as filing, correspondence, and maintaining financial documentation

Profile

  • Educational Background: A degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is preferred. AAT qualification or part-qualified accountant is a plus.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a finance assistant role or similar position, ideally within the automotive industry, is advantageous.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Experience with accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks) is highly desirable.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail are essential.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with team members and external stakeholders.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within a team and contribute to a positive work environment.
