Senior Legal Officer
Rugby (Hybrid 1 day in the office)
4-6 Month Contract
£45 (Umbrella)
ARM are currently recruiting for a Senior Legal Officer on behalf of our client in Rugby to join their friendly team.
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized legal assistance in housing, civil litigation, and employment matters.
- Ensure the delivery of an efficient and effective legal service to councillors and officers, with a focus on continual improvement and performance management.
- Collaborate with the Legal Services Team to support the Council's ambitious Transformation Programme, including advocacy, drafting, and negotiating cases within the assigned areas of responsibility with minimal supervision.
- Offer additional support in other legal areas as required by the Legal & Governance Manager, based on demand and the postholder's relevant experience.
- Participate in corporate activities and initiatives as needed.
- The role is supervised by the Legal & Governance Manager through regular team meetings, one-on-one sessions, and daily interactions.
Requirements:
- Experience & Knowledge: Advising on housing, civil litigation, and employment matter
- Knowledge of governance, planning, property, contracts, licensing, and criminal litigation is desirable.
- Background in housing law preferred
- Experience within local government or public sector settings is desirable.
- ***Valid full driving license and access to a vehicle
