Manufacturing Engineer - Peterlee - Up to £38/hr - Inside IR35
Do you have manufacturing experience and are you seeking a new job in Peterlee? Jonathan Lee Recruitment is helping a world leader in construction and mining equipment recruit a Manufacturing Engineer. The 12 month initial role comes with a contract rate of £38.00 per hour.
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be able to provide the technical expertise necessary to design, develop, and implement manufacturing systems, complex manufacturing operations and sophisticated machines.
You will contribute to the planning and delivery of projects, continually learn and stay abreast of innovative technology, mentor and coach team members, whilst broadening your professional network.
In your first few weeks in this Manufacturing Engineer role, you can expect to:
- Develop, analyse and manage manufacturing/fabrication/paint/assembly projects
- Assist in developing department capital and expense budgets and maintaining the department capital forecast
- Administer the New Product Introduction NPI process to ensure that Engineering drawings are released and processed on time for NPI build
- Direct, develop and support timely Design for Manufacture Best Practices, Operation Excellence Process Validation Best Practices and Lean Operation Excellence and Manufacturing Best Practices
- Engage in creative problem-solving to address operational issues, including ergonomic safety, efficiency improvements, process bottlenecks, and quality concerns

- Thorough knowledge of manufacturing concepts
- Excellent communication both written and verbal
- Project management and/or process optimisation experience
- Familiar with company policies and procedures with a department background
- Able to build relationships and collaborate with various stakeholders
- Lean manufacturing training and qualifications
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft packages, word, excel, powerpoint is a must - Auto Cad experience would be a nice to have
