Hiring Teaching Assistants for a Special Needs School !
Type: Full Time only (Term-Time)
Timings: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM
Salary: £13/hr - £14/hr
Location: Northampton
About School: Independent SEN specialist school catering for a maximum of 36 children aged 11-17, all of whom have an Education Health and Care Plan with main presenting needs in the area of Social, Emotional and Mental Health and/ or Autism Spectrum Condition.
Job Description
- You will be required to work within small groups and at times on a 1:1 basis with pupils who require additional support, under the teacher's guidance.
- You will need to have a proactive approach and use your initiative in situations including managing behaviour, with the class teacher offering you constant support.
- Take responsibility for the safeguarding of the young people in your care.
- Support the school team to provide a stimulating, safe, and nurturing environment for pupils to learn.
- Use an enthusiastic and flexible approach to working and building positive relationships with pupils and staff.
Requirements:
- Right To Work in the UK (NO SPONSORSHIP)
- a passion for working within an SEMH setting,
- a flexible and enthusiastic attitude and a commitment to embed a positive culture of learning amongst staff and students
- Proficient in English language and excellent interpersonal skills
- Personal or professional experience with children
- Prior experience with children/young adults with special needs in the UK
