Science Teacher - Maternity Cover

Zest Education are seeking a part time 0.6, science teacher to start September 2024 for the rest aminimum of one term in a maternity cover role at a high performing secondary school in the Burton on Trent area of Staffordshire.

The school is improving within academic and attainment levels and is continually looking to ensure their students develop into respectable and inspiring individuals.

This role is ideal for someone who is looking to take on a new challenge in a new school or complete part of their ECT year. As this is a long-term role it would include planning and marking the lessons so having excellent subject knowledge at KS3 and KS4 is essential, some knowledge at KS5 isn't essential but would be beneficial.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Have a PGCE or equivalent UK teaching qualification that has awarded them QTS or QTLS.
  • An enthusiasm for science with exceptional knowledge across KS3, KS4 and KS5
  • Desire to work as part of a wider team, supporting them as and when they need
  • The ability to effectively mark, plan and deliver lessons of a high quality.
  • Have classroom and behaviour management experience.
