Our Market Leading Manufacturer is currently recruiting for a Production Maintenance Technician within the Engineering department on a 4 on 4 off night shift basis to join an experienced and committed team at their facility north of Portsmouth.
Role Overview:
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting production operations by responding to breakdowns, keeping downtime to a minimum, and maximising uptime. Providing excellent customer service to support Safety Compliance, Quality and Process Improvements, Continuous Improvement, and Cost Saving activities.
Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service and Support:

Work under a degree of pressure providing high levels of customer service in a production environment.

Pro-actively team work with peers, the customer, and other support groups to continually improve equipment reliability and performance.

Maintenance and Repair:
-
Responsible for resolving equipment failures and carrying out planned and unplanned engineering tasks in a responsive and effective manner, including breakdown response and line/equipment ownership.

Execute Planned Maintenance using a Computerised Maintenance Management System.

Independently plan workload and time with sound fault diagnosis and problem-solving methods to identify and escalate problems with their causes and apply quick, effective solutions.

Shift and absence cover may be required to meet business needs.

Technical Expertise:

Applicants should have a career background in high-volume production environments, making sound judgements, and prioritising multiple requests.

Have detailed knowledge of electrical principles and maintenance skills.

An understanding of electrics and machine controls is essential.
Skills & Competencies:

Industry Experience:
-
Manufacturing/Process/Production experience in FMCG or siimilar industry.

Demonstrable experience in safe working methods using procedures and structured working techniques.

Technical Skills:

Detailed knowledge of electrical principles and maintenance skills.

Good understanding of electrics and an understanding of machine controls..

Interpersonal Skills:

Good verbal and written communication skills.

Team player willing to share knowledge.

Computer Skills:

Computer literate, capable of using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems effectively.
Qualifications:
- Recognised apprenticeship in a relevant discipline.
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a suitable discipline.
- Demonstrable electrical/electronic/controls experience, with multi-skilled abilities preferred.
Working Hours:
- Night shift on a 4 on 4 off basis.
