Adults Senior Social Worker - Mental Health

The starting salary for this role is £46,399 per annum, based on a 36-hour working week.

We are excited to be offering the opportunity for a Senior Social Worker to join our fantastic East Mental Health (MH) Social Care team, based in Woodhatch Place, Reigate. The East MH Social Care Team is a supportive and friendly team who have lots of experience of working within MH services. The team consists of AMHP's, Social Workers, Senior Social Care Assistants and Social Care Assistants.

About the role

As a Senior Social Worker in Mental Health you will be expected to have strong experience in assessing the social care needs of service users and provide direct social work intervention to some of the most challenging and complex service users and their carers.

You will provide effective support to individuals with mental health needs using a strength-based approach to enable individuals to live as independently as possible with more choice and control.

As a Senior Social Worker you will supervise and support staff as well as work alongside other senior staff and the team manager regarding improving processes and shaping the team. Working with partner agencies is an integral part of the role. You will need to be flexible to work in a challenging environment. You will be supported and will benefit from a structured induction programme.

Shortlisting Criteria

To be considered for shortlisting, your application will clearly evidence the following:

  • Experience and knowledge of working in a strength based way with service users and carers
  • Experience and knowledge of adult safeguarding and supporting staff with completing safeguarding enquires
  • Experience of supporting staff to develop their practice ensuring legal frameworks are met
  • Experience of working with partner agencies to support service users and working relationships with the team
  • Experience of developing a learning culture within a team.
