Joining this established and highly successful company just outside of Aylesbury, with opportunities for working from home a couple of days a week, the DevOps Engineer role is a fantastic opportunity for either a candidate with existing DevOps experience, or a Linux Systems Administrator, or Applications Support Engineer, looking to gain DevOps skills in the support of a high-availability, client-facing infrastructure.

The Role

Joining a skilled and growing team of Developers, Network Engineers and Support Analysts, the DevOps Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and supporting the company's high-availability Linux-based infrastructure that underpins their suite of customer-facing, big data-driven applications. The DevOps Engineer will use their knowledge to help support, manage, and where needed, automate and streamline existing operational processes and tools, as well as ensuring the observability of systems and services, supporting change and configuration management.

What's Required?

For this DevOps Engineer role, the main things we're looking for are:

  • Experience with Linux administration and scripting, including Linux CLI
  • A good understanding of Python and shell scripting
  • A familiarity with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL and/or MongoDB
  • Experience with GitHub Actions and/or Jenkins
  • Basic networking skills, such as a familiarity with subnetting, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, SSL, TLS, HTTPS, etc.
