Our client based in Newbury is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join their team as an Entry Level Payroll Administrator. If you have a keen eye for detail, strong organisational skills, and are eager to kickstart your career in payroll administration, this opportunity is perfect for you.

Responsibilities:

  • Process and maintain payroll records, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Collaborate with the HR team to gather and verify employee data, including hours worked, leaves, bonuses, and deductions.
  • Calculate wages, overtime, and deductions, while adhering to federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Address employee payroll-related inquiries and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
  • Prepare and distribute payroll reports, statements, and records as required.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of all payroll information.
  • Stay up to date with changes in the payroll landscape, such as tax laws, regulations, and industry best practises.
  • Support the Payroll Manager in various payroll-related tasks and projects.

Requirements:

  • Strong numerical aptitude and proficiency in using payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with a high level of accuracy in data entry and calculations.
  • Ability to handle confidential information and maintain a high degree of professionalism.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with employees and external stakeholders.
  • Prior experience in payroll administration is a plus but not required.
  • Team player mentality, with a willingness to learn and contribute to the success of the payroll team.
