HR Assistant

Posted by Hachette UK Distribution.

A team player who is passionate about customer service, you will play a key role in supporting our HR Operation. You will enjoy communicating with employees and managers and will be happy to support across all stages of the employee lifecycle. Working within a collaborative team, and an environment that is focused on continuous improvement, you will also have the opportunity for involvement in projects and supporting the wider people and culture agenda.

Key tasks will include

  • Managing HR administration e.g. contracts, changes to terms and conditions
  • Facilitating the HR inbox and responding to queries
  • Supporting the recruitment process, including posting adverts, managing responses and coordinating shortlisting and interviews
  • Supporting the HR Business Partners with reporting, ER cases, and general administration
  • Facilitating the onboarding and offboarding of staff e.g. probation periods, exit interviews
  • Supporting employees through our family leave processes
  • Offering guidance on HR policy and process
  • Processing payroll tasks and updating various systems and trackers
  • Supporting ad hoc projects and the Hachette people plan

Who we're looking for

We are ideally looking for someone with previous HR administration experience, but just as important is the ability to juggle a number of priorities, excellent teamwork and a positive 'can do' attitude.

You will be organised and able to work to deadlines and be happy to flex your day depending on priorities. Your customer focus will be evident through your ability to build relationships and adaptability in your approach.

At ease with processing payroll administration and systems management, being a dab hand at Excel would be a helpful attribute, as would previous use of HR Information Systems.

As a growing business, you will also be eager to learn, spot improvements and champion our mission and goals.
