Assistant Management Accountant
Location: Wrexham Head Office
Working Pattern: Monday to Thursday 08:00am - 16:30pm & Friday 08:00am - 16:00pm (with a 30-minute lunch break each day)
Up to £34,000 per annum
About the Role:
A successful SME within the construction industry are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Management Accountant to join their finance team. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, this hands-on role is critical in adding value to their department and overall company. Candidates with experience in an SME environment will be particularly well-suited to this position.
- Assisting with preparation and producing the month-end accounting pack
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations
- Manage pre-payments and accruals
- Oversee cash flow management
- Prepare VAT returns
- Maintain and manage fixed assets
- Handle intercompany accounts and reconciliations
- Perform invoicing and bank reconciliations
- Carry out any other duties required to support the accounts department

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Relevant experience in a similar role
- AAT qualified or part-qualified ACCA/CIMA
- Experience in the construction industry is desirable
- Proficiency in Sage 50 is desirable
- Excellent analytical and reasoning skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt to change, solve problems, and maintain a positive attitude
