Job Title: Customs Warehouse Coordinator / Logistics Coordinator

Location: Surbiton, New Malden, Wimbledon, Worcester Park, Chessington, Epsom, Cheam, Sutton, Leatherhead, Reigate, Dorking

Salary: £30,000 + Hybrid Working

CONTRACT ROLE - STARTING DECEMBER 1st 2024

Evolve Recruitment are seeking to recruit a proactive and experienced Warehouse/Logistics Coordinator to join a clients team on a Maternity contract. You will be responsible for the movement of product into and out of the company's Customs Warehouse using customs warehouse software, ensuring system and processes adherence to successfully submit compliant customs declarations to HMRC & export documents to the EU and other regions. The successful candidate must have proven relevant experience and be available to start on 1st December 2024 for a handover. A hybrid role working 2/3 days in the office and remaining days at home, Car parking on site at their modern offices in Surrey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor simplified frontier declaration (SFD) process through broker/forwarder, ensuring that entry is made to customs warehouse in a timely manner.
  • Process daily imports files received from SAP into customs warehouse (Ricardo) system. Resolve discrepancies through appropriate channel.
  • Submit declarations through customs warehouse system to HMRC.
  • Manage origin certificates to allow for preferential treatment of merchandise (GSP, EUR1).
  • Provide updated documents with customs procedure codes to the freight agents customs teams.
  • Provide end of day pre-alerts to freight agents.
  • Process Intercompany Stock Transfers, and ensure goods are removed from customs warehouse.
  • Backing up for others in the Logistics & Trade Compliance Team.
  • Ad hoc duties as required.

Skills & Experience:

  • Required: Numerate with close attention to detail and respect of deadlines.
  • 3-5 years experience in logistics environment.
  • Good working knowledge of HS classifications & general broker and freight forwarder operations.
  • Good computer skills including Word and Excel.
  • Good customer service & interaction skills, ability to work using own initiative as well as part of a team.
  • Good level of housekeeping, organization, punctuality & flexibility regarding hours & duties.
  • Good problem solving skills.
  • Able to work calmly under pressure, prioritise & meet deadlines.
  • Able to undertake varied tasks simultaneously and use initiative.
  • Preferred: SAP and customs warehousing experience an advantage
  • Warehouse and Logistics experience
