Reed are delighted to work with this social enterprise who have an exciting new opportunity for an Employment Advisor to deliver a range of guidance and training services for unemployed people, contribute to individuals' progression into employment, training and education.

The Employment Advisor will actively engage with individual participants with a mental health condition, ensuring that through the delivery of a multi-channel, multi-agency, and multi-place service delivery model, the participant is enabled and empowered to successfully complete their personal journey into, and progression within, the working environment. They will deliver the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) approach (for which training will be given); providing person-centred advice and guidance to clients, whilst building positive relationships with local employers to enable clients to move into suitable employment.

Responsibilities

  • To manage a caseload of clients who are motivated to start/return to work.
  • To provide services to customers that are employed, but are struggling to retain their employment due to their mental health.
  • Meet and support clients to understand their key skills, aspirations, and goals by completing a Vocational Profile and producing an Action Plan to help them obtain and sustain competitive employment. This includes support with their job search, CV production, application forms, interview techniques, and career development.

Requirements

  • Working with and placing individual customers into suitable and sustained employment.
  • Knowledge in relation to the issues affecting individuals with mental health and other barriers to progressing to employment and sustained employment.
  • Ability to work in a target-driven environment, with a focus on the successful achievement of job outcomes and sustained outcomes.
