Sports Lecturer

A reputable educational institution in Halesowen is seeking a dedicated Sports Lecturer to join their team on a temporary basis. The role involves teaching Vocational Level 1 to 3 sports courses for 18 hours per week across 4 days. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a passion for sports and education to contribute to the development of students in this field.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Delivering high-quality teaching sessions in sports studies for Vocational Level 1 to 3.
- Preparing lesson plans and teaching materials that cater to a range of learning needs and styles.
- Assessing and evaluating students' progress through assignments, tests, and examinations.
- Providing constructive feedback and support to students to aid their academic and personal development.
- Maintaining accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress.
- Participating in departmental meetings and contributing to curriculum development.
- Ensuring compliance with college policies and standards, including health and safety in a sports context.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- A degree in Sports or a related field.
- A teaching qualification is desirable but not essential.
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C or above, including English and Maths.
- A valid DBS certificate on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to engage and inspire students of varying abilities and backgrounds.
