Role

Step into a dynamic role where you'll be the linchpin in delivering exceptional service to our clients. Engage with a diverse array of client groups and sectors throughout the East Midlands, gaining broad exposure and honing your skills. As you supervise the audit team and mentor junior members, you will be pivotal in driving project success and adding value at every turn.

  • Take charge of the audit process for clients, reporting directly to Managers, Directors, or Partners.
  • Lead an audit team with confidence, providing leadership, guidance, and support to junior team members.
  • Ensure audit files meet high standards.
  • Prepare both statutory and non-statutory accounts.
  • Delegate tasks and oversee junior staff members, ensuring thorough review of their work.
  • Draft journals with an understanding of complex accounting principles.
  • Complete assignments within budget, promptly recording any variations.
  • Perform detailed technical work and play a crucial role in delivering supportive client services.
  • Build strong client relationships and assist management in maintaining client portfolios.
  • Understand client internal controls and recommend improvements where necessary.
  • Conduct on-site assignments/secondments at client premises.
  • Ensure completion of assigned tasks within time budgets and deadlines, maintaining high standards with minimal supervision.
  • Continuously seek to improve systems and procedures.
  • Provide assistance, coaching, and mentoring to junior staff as needed.
  • Prioritise your work and deadlines effectively.
  • Stay current with technical knowledge and changes in the accountancy profession, driving best practices within the team.
  • Monitor and adhere to deadlines, ensuring client work meets expectations.
  • Liaise with other departments within the firm, maintaining awareness of available services.

About You

  • ACCA/ACA qualified.
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in an accountancy practice firm.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting packages and statutory accounts preparation software (ideally Xero and Caseware).
  • Basic knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, and FRS 102.
  • Strong time management and delegation skills.
