Training Coordinator

AWE is currently recruiting for a Training Coordinator to join the Trials, Experiments & Technology Development group to support the delivery of the technical training. You will assist the subject matter expert and Training Manager with training requirements for the delivery teams. Assisting in designing and developing new channels of learning and resources with the aim to improve the time to competency targets and retention to enable our staff to complete our mission, whilst also improving retention through engagement and development opportunities.

You may be required, on occasion to deliver training.

Other responsibilities include the line management of Early Careers apprentices and ongoing management of the company professional competency-based governance system.

Location - Reading

This is a hybrid role with approximately 2-3 days in the office and the option to work from home for the remainder.

Package - £35,950- £43,000 (depending on your suitability and level of experience).

Role

Your main responsibilities as a Training Coordinator will include:

  • Leadership accountabilities at First Level Leader accountabilities for Early Careers within area of responsibility.
  • Provide oversight and support of the delivery of training to time, cost and quality.
  • Develop in depth understanding of the evolving competencies / skills / learning requirements driven by the current and future programme needs in the allocated business areas and/or for large specialist projects.
  • Undertake Training Needs Analysis in line with company procedure to understand the most appropriate ways to meet these programme requirements.
  • Design and develop training curriculums, courses and programmes in line with company procedures, ensuring training methods are modern and up to date with latest industry best practice and relevant legislation.
  • Evaluate and support external training suppliers alongside HR and other stakeholders for specialist training ensuring value for money, manage training forecast and in year budget and utilise common training activities to ensure compliance with AWE Licence Conditions and company and educational standards, procedures, and governance.
  • Establish and report upon metrics that measure the performance and success of ongoing training programs. Identify points of improvement and develop solutions that improve the effectiveness of training programs.

Your key skills and experience should include but not be limited to:

  • Strong communication and influencing skills.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills using critical thinking, creativity and curiosity.
  • Experience of providing a resilient approach to driving change and supportive change management.
  • Proven experience of engaging with stakeholders at all levels across to ensure a common and holistic approach to training
  • Line management experience would be beneficial.
  • Working in an L&D team developing and delivering training.
  • Experience of digital learning and content design would be beneficial.
  • Team player and excellent collaborator.
  • Coaching and Mentoring experience.
