Finance Manager
Location: County Durham
Reports to: Finance Director
We are looking for an experienced Finance Manager to join our manufacturing client in County Durham. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in helping oversee the financial operations of the business, reporting directly to the Finance Director.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in Managing day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger
- Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Develop and maintain budgets, forecasts, and financial models
- Monitor cash flow and manage working capital
- Oversee cost accounting processes and implement cost-saving measures
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies
- Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making
- Supervise and develop the finance team
- Assist in external and internal audits
Requirements:
- Ideally a professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of financial principles, practices, and software (e.g., ERP systems)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial modelling
- Strong communication and leadership abilities
- Experience with cost accounting and inventory management
- Can do attitude with excellent communications skills
Desirable:
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
- Experience with process improvement and automation
