Production Manager

Quick Staff UK is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Production Manager to joins its client's team in the Haverfordwest area of Wales. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing the manufacturing processes, ensuring that the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and safety are consistently met. You will lead a dedicated team, manage resources, and collaborate with cross-functional departments to drive operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all aspects of the production process, ensuring efficiency and adherence to quality standards
  • Ensure shop floor employees' health and safety and compliance with all PCL safety rules.
  • Deliver products according to plan and within specifications to ensure the highest quality and service.
  • Maximize the utilization and efficiency of assets to maintain a balance between capacity and demand.
  • Develop and implement business processes to optimize production operations.
  • Coordinate with other departments, such as procurement and logistics, to ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery of materials.
  • Monitor production schedules and adjust as needed to meet deadlines.
  • Train and supervise up to 20 production staff, providing guidance and support as necessary.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure product quality and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to develop and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Continuously improve all relevant operational metrics, such as material balance, output per manhour, and develop OEE% or equivalent as a measure.
  • Manage multi-disciplinary teams. teams including training, discipline, development, and morale.
  • Ensure correct sequencing of products for production process.
  • Working with planning manager as required to monitor and manage any quality issues.
  • Checking and controlling the daily output

Key Requirements:

  • Previous experience in Operational Management is essential.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Highly organised with great attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Manage internal and external stakeholders.
  • Results orientated and highly motivated.
  • Experience of working with operations professionals to set schedules.
  • Process orientated with the ability to identify, resolve, and escalate problems where necessary.
  • Be results driven and commercially minded.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage own workload to a high standard.

Working Hours: 7.00am - 4.30pm
(40hrs per week)
