Finance Assistant | Fast-Growth Retail Business | Slough
Harmonic Finance are delighted to be working with one of the globe's leading niche retailers in their search for a Finance Assistant to join their expanding team. The business is a well-established brand with a strong, loyal client base.
Owned by a well-capitalized parent company (circa £100 million t/o), our client is seeking an enthusiastic, driven individual who is keen to gain insight into a new industry. In this role, you will be working closely with the Financial Controller to ensure timely payment of all invoices as well as owning the AP and AR functions, and becoming highly involved in month-end.
You would be joining the relatively small UK-headquartered European subsidiary (t/o of circa £4 million) on the cusp of a period of significant investment in new hires to support continued growth. Present headcount sits at 11 which will likely rise to circa 16 by the end of 2024. The role is therefore well-suited to someone who enjoys an SME environment which allows them to work autonomously within a small close-knit team.
Responsibilities
- Processing, coding and entering invoices and credit notes
- Allocating payments and performing payment runs
- Balance sheet and supplier statement reconciliations
- Monitoring the finance inbox
- Chasing aged debt
- Supporting with the stock ledger and annual stock take
- Acting as the main point of contact for payment queries from internal teams, clients and suppliers
- Working with the Financial Controller on month-end activities and the production of management accounts
- Ad hoc finance administration duties
Essential criteria
- 2+ years' experience in a finance assistant or accounts assistant degree
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Intermediate knowledge of Excel
- Exposure to a stock-based business
Desirable criteria
- Experience working with multiple different currencies
Salary: £30,000-£33,000 + benefits
Location: Slough (4 days in office)
