Refrigeration Service & Breakdown Engineer

Overview

Your role will be to carry out service work and provide an initial first response to call outs and for customers. This includes first fix or successful diagnosis of electrical and refrigeration faults. With the proven ability to analyse and show good attention to detail, you will be able to communicate at all levels to both internal staff and client representatives providing a first class service at all times. A good level of IT applications and use of mobile tablets is essential.

Duties and Key Responsibilities

  • Attend sites, diagnose and repair faults
  • Carry out preventative maintenance.
  • Complete all works within the scope of the F Gas laws.
  • Review client equipment and advise customers on correct operating procedures.
  • Completion of electronic job sheets and service reports on a daily basis
  • Provide detailed information for office staff to enable them to provide accurate quotations and follow up actions.
  • Maintain good customer relationships and help up sell further services
  • Provide technical support and training to internal staff and our stakeholders
  • Respond to emergency call outs and be on the standby rota currently 1:6
  • A good understanding of refrigeration systems
  • Experience with ammonia would be advantageous.

General Responsibilities

  • Maintain all tools and equipment in good working order and report any faulty equipment
  • Maintain and upkeep your Company vehicle, ensuring that the vehicle is road worthy at all times, reporting any defects or road accidents immediately
  • Follow all Health and Safety Policy and Procedures
  • Follow all Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)
  • Complete on site paper work in a timely manner including writing rams.
  • Undergo training as per Company requirements
  • Carry out any other duties that the business requires as requested by your manager
  • Stopping over (nights out) where and when the job requires it for work duties
