CNC Operator

Our client based in Royston are looking for an experienced CNC Operator to join their expanding CNC team. This is a unique position which will allow you to develop and use your skills to make a difference in the engineering world. This role will give you the opportunity to work with some of the UK's leading product development and technologies consultancies, as well as independent design engineering companies, serving the medical, architectural, scientific, and engineering industries across the UK.

Requirements

  • Experience as a CNC Setter/Operator role using 3/4/5 axis machines
  • Experience setting and operating CNC Mills - Fanuc/HAAS & Heidenhain controls
  • Teamwork is essential; you need to be willing to work with colleagues to make improvements for the department, developing new ideas or methods in engineering to increase efficiency/quality
  • Great work ethic with tasks not outlined in your job description, such as pack, tidy store cupboards, stock take, unpack supplies and other tasks specified by the CNC Team Leader to get work completed on time
  • Excellent level of communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances
  • Ability to adapt and work in a busy workshop
  • Confident to make quick decisions, ability to problem solve and take on challenges
  • Attention to detail and desire to make quality parts is very important

Responsibilities

  • Where required, programme machines in line with technical information provided
  • Set up the tooling required to produce parts
  • Carry out first offs to ensure parts meet quality and technical requirements specified
  • Run product batches to technical requirements to a high standard
  • Check dimensions prior to passing for Inspection
  • Comply with quality and regulatory standards
  • Adhere to health and safety requirements
  • Perform any other duties within your capabilities as directed by the Company.

  • Full time, Permanent
  • 8 hour day shift, 40 hours a week
  • 8am- 4:30pm
  • SSP Sick pay
  • 21 days holiday plus bank holidays ( increase with service)
