PAYROLL SPECIALIST – BELFAST- HYBRID WORKING

SALARY: £25,974.00 - £29,822.00 per annum

EMPLOYMENT: Full-time, 1 year Fixed-Term Contract

My client is an excellent charity and social enterprise currently seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join their team.

The successful Payroll Specialist will work in a structured team supporting the Payroll Manager and providing a competent, effective and timely payroll function to the business in line with Company Policies, statutory legislation and employment law.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for the end to end running of the monthly and weekly payroll for the Group, across both UK and ROI jurisdictions.
  • Ensuring that the payroll is administered in accordance with statutory legislation and tax compliance.
  • Ensuring accurate calculations of sick pay, parental leave, holiday pay, overtime, premiums, allowances, overtime, bonuses in accordance with company policy.
  • Ensuring all payments to staff, HMRC payments including Final Payment Summary and Employer Payment Summary returns, and monthly pension contributions etc. are made accurately and on-time.
  • To ensure that staff records are accurate and up to date and that all requirements and procedures relating to Clients payrolls are being followed, including details of benefits in kind required for completion of P11Ds and Class 1A returns.
  • Responsible for ensuring the administration of auto-enrolment in line with worker eligibility criteria. Keeping up to date with processes and procedures relating to Auto Enrolment and pension schemes.
  • Completion of all relevant journals and accruals in line with the various payrolls.
  • Reviewing expenses for payment in accordance with the organisation policy.
  • Acting as a key contact with the customer when complaints are received. Dealing with complex payroll related queries from all payroll customers and trustworthy with the ability to deal with confidential information.
  • Providing expert advice, assistance and guidance in the application, development and review of company payroll procedures, policies and practices.

What you'll need to succeed!

  • A minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade C or above (or equivalent) or higher.
  • At least 3 years' experience working in a payroll position.
  • Experience of working for a business with multiple payrolls.
  • Experience of working within both UK and ROI payroll jurisdictions.
