Control Systems Engineer - Northampton - £40,000 to £55,000 depending on experience - Plus Pension and Benefits
Melbreck Technical are working with a leading a leading designer and manufacturer of specialist equipment and machinery based near Northampton
They pride themselves on their innovative history stemming from the 80's and have created a culture based on understanding, co-operation, partnership and diversity.
As they continue to invest in new products, they have identified a need to strengthen their technical controls team and grow this function, as it is seen as a critical resource in their growth plans. As such they are looking to hire a controls systems engineer to join their business on a permanent basis ASAP.
Control Systems Engineer - Overview:
The Control Systems Engineer will be responsible for developing and integrating hardware and software to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the business's full range of products.
Control Systems Engineer - Role Responsibilities:
Design, development, and commissioning of control systems, including variable speed motors and drives, PLC based test systems, P&ID diagrams
Actively participate in engineering projects including interaction with customers and internal departments as required.
Test, diagnose and rectify faults to validate products
Ensure designs meet legislative requirements
Creation of system specifications and test documentation to a high standard
Assist with commissioning of systems both in-house and at customer sites within UK and internationally
Control Systems Engineer - Job Holder Requirements:
Qualified to NVQ 5 minimum / degree level or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline
A minimum of 2 years of experience in Electrical CAD e.g. AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN or preferably Solid Works Electrical
Practical experience of designing and developing control and instrumentation systems
Understanding of modern machine systems design and standards including safety systems
Design of industrial control systems following company procedures
Understand & show commercial awareness of project budgets, plans, specifications & timescales
Creation of high-quality project documentation
Motor Inverter drive setup and programming for variable speed applications
PLC Programming Siemens Step 7 / TIA Portal / Controllogix / Beckhoff PLC / Codesys desirable
Microsoft Office packages, to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project
Self-motivated with effective time management to meet project timescales
Possessing elevated levels of written and verbal communication
Able to travel and work internationally as required
Control Systems Engineer - Hours and Benefits:

Support to apply and maintain IET membership will be available.
Core hours of work are 37 per week based on Monday to Thursday 08:30 - 17:15 with ½ hour lunch break, and Fridays 08:30 - 12:30.
