We are looking for experienced and passionate Senior Practitioner

Occupational Therapist

to join a dedicated Holistic Assessment in

the South East.

Are you interested in joining a highly professional team committed to continuous service improvement, that is results driven and quality focused The Senior Occupational Therapist will work within ASC remit and is responsible for ensuring that the OT practice standards remain high and that services are delivered appropriately to adults, including those with complex needs and those where statutory interventions are required. The successful candidate will be holding complex cases and doing face to face visits. You will responsible for direct line supervision of both Qualified and Unqualified staff within the team. Including but not limited to:

  • Advanced Practitioner Independent Living Assessors.
  • Independent Living Assessors.
  • Occupational Therapy Assistants
  • Sensory Officers.
  • Occupational Therapists

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy two years post-registration experience and current registration;
  • Ability to produce clear and concise written reports;
  • Ability to demonstrate strong team working skills including working in a multi-disciplinary team and liaison with relevant bodies;
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation pertaining to disability;
  • Experience in at least one of the following areas - provision of major adaptations or moving and handling or paediatric equipment/children with complex needs;
  • Extensive experience of visiting disabled and/or older people in their home;
  • A good understanding of the aims of the service in relation to meeting the needs of older and disabled people living in Manchester;
  • Ability to communicate with a wide range of individuals ;
  • A full driving licence and access to a car (for which essential car user is payable).

In this Role you will:

  • Ensure that the standards of service are highest possible and within available resources to promote independence, dignity, choice, self-esteem and wellbeing of residents.
  • Ensure that residents and carers needs are identified and appropriate support arrangements are made to a consistently high professional standard, within available resources, always promoting strength and the asset based approach and enabling independence, this may include were appropriate reviewing of Packages of Care, assisting with safe guarding and understanding your role with capacity assessment and liberty protection safe guards.
  • Have an awareness and understanding of Continuing Health Care check list domains, ensuring any residents who could meet the standards are assessed for.
  • Manage the day-to-day, on-going delivery and development of the service within remit ensuring delivery of a service that is responsive, high quality, value for money and meets contractual obligations.
  • Assist in development of the Occupational Therapy teams, management and evaluation of evidence based Occupational Therapy to residents in a variety of community settings.
  • Be responsible for the performance of the team, and individuals within it.
  • Assist in identifiying training and development needs of staff.
  • Support the OT Clinical Lead or OT manager in delivering high quality care that delivers best value and meets the requirements of commissioners.
  • Provide advice and consultation on Trusted Assessor/Functional Observational skill activities carried out by other staff in the Adult Social Care Department
