Job Title: Locum Consultant in Obstetrics & Gynaecology

Location: NHS Borders, United Kingdom

Duration: ASAP to 31 July 2024

Working Hours: Normal Working Days, 09:00 - 17:00 each weekday plus on-call duties.

Description of Role: We are seeking a Locum Consultant in Obstetrics & Gynaecology to join our team at NHS Borders. This generalist post will involve a variety of duties including outpatient sessions, labor ward responsibilities, and theater sessions. The role also includes non-resident on-call duties on a 1 in 6 basis approximately, with advanced midwife support.

Framework: This position operates under the National Procurement Framework NP500/22 Temp Agency Locum Doctors. Candidates must comply with the NP pricing schedule.

Accommodation: Effective from 1 April 2024, NHS Borders will no longer provide locum accommodation except for occasional overnight stays under exceptional circumstances. A full charge will apply in such cases (£30 per night or £440 per month for a single room, £660 per month for a self-contained flat). Agencies are expected to assist candidates in finding accommodation locally, and NHS Borders cannot contribute financially to accommodation costs.

Break Policy: Breaks taken during working hours are not paid.

Travel: One return journey from within the UK is payable.

Requirements:

  • GMC registration and eligibility for inclusion on the Specialist Register for Obstetrics & Gynaecology.
  • Experience and expertise in obstetrics and gynaecology, including outpatient care, labor ward management, and surgical procedures.
  • Availability to work weekdays with on-call responsibilities.
  • Compliance with the National Procurement pricing schedule.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and provide excellent patient care.
